Two best friends in a fishers' colony become estranged due to political ambition and outside interference, until one of them finds a solution in the social application of the age-old message of the Sufis. The movie is now becoming widely recognized as a thinly veiled allegory about the complex relationship between West Pakistan and East Pakistan (following a newspaper article by Khurram Ali Shafique in 2010 in which this interpretation was first suggested).
