A young man saves the family by offering his soul in return! Waheed described it as the best movie of his career, and found it flawless. The legend itself originated in the 1930s with the epoch-making play Baap ka Gunah by Hakim Ahmad Shuja, a disciple of Allama Iqbal, and evolved through a number of remakes and partially inspired movies until it took its definitive form in this masterpiece, directed by Hasan Tariq, who had in turn started his career by assisting Anwar Kemal Pasha, the son of Hakim Ahmad Shuja.
